Attack on Business Partner
On June 17, his business partner Ashish Gupta was attacked in broad daylight. Gunshots were fired at Gupta, who managed to escape with great difficulty. Just a few days later, Chandak began receiving threatening calls from gangster Rohit Godara, demanding Rs 30 crore.
Audio Threats and Calls
Chandak also said that on June 20 at 12:26 p.m., he received an audio call in which a gangster openly said, "We’ll give you such a shock that you’ll remember for life. Even your police guards won’t be able to save you. No one will be left in your family to enjoy the wealth you’ve earned." They also said that others would take over liquor contracts in Punjab.
Later, on June 22, Chandak received three more calls, but did not answer them. His son Raghav Chandak also received a missed call from an unknown number. After that, a message came asking to talk, and when they spoke, gangster Harry Boxer threatened to kill them and again demanded extortion money.
On June 24, Harry Boxer called Raghav again, repeated the death threat, and repeated the Rs 30 crore demand.
Sunil Pehalwan Behind the Ashish Gupta Attack
According to Chandak’s FIR, on June 24, Raghav received a message stating that the attack on Ashish Gupta was carried out under the orders of Sunil Pehalwan. It also mentioned that gangster Goldy Brar’s associate (called "dabba") is Sunil Pehalwan’s nephew.
The message warned that if Goldy Brar ever calls again, Raghav should tell him that the person he’s looking to kill was actually protected by Sunil Pehalwan and Sarwan after he murdered Goldy Brar’s brother Gurlaal. It also named Money Faridkot and Bantu, claiming that both were close to Sunil and Sarwan, even after being shot at by Goldy Brar.
Chandak has urged the police to investigate all the mobile calls, messages and audio clips and verify their authenticity.
