Kanpur: In a shocking incident, a 62-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur fed up with his lonely life, decided to get married. However, his decision turned against him as the life partner he chose turned out to be a guest for only 2 days. The newly wed bride robbed him of Rs 3 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh and fled. A police complaint has been registered in connection with the matter and the police are searching for the accused.
The elderly man has been identified as Harish Kumar Shukla. Shukla, a retired COD employee was living on rent in Chakeri area. During this time, he met a 45-year-old woman living on rent near his house. The woman lured him into marrying her. And on 11 February 2025, both of them decided to live together and got married in Arya Samaj temple located in Benajhabar.The woman has been identified as Pooja.
Shukla gave his bride valuable gifts worth lakhs of rupees. Along with this, he got expensive Jewellery made for her. However, on the second day of the wedding the woman robbed away 3 lakh cash and jewellery worth 2 lakh from the house.
Shukla kept searching for Pooja for about one and a half months, before he lodged a police complaint.
Police Action
The police has filed a case in the matter and a team has been find to search the woman.
