Indian Navy Recruitment Scam: Odisha Police Arrest 3 Navy Personnel For Defrauding Aspirants

Bhubaneswar: In a breakthrough, Odisha police have unearthed a recruitment scam involving the Indian Navy and arrested three Navy personnel for allegedly defrauding job aspirants of large sums of money.

According to sources, the accused collected hefty amounts from candidates, luring them with promises of securing positions as Agniveers in the Indian Navy.

Among those arrested by Khurda police is a former Navy officer, while the other two are currently serving at INS Chilka and INS Kesari, located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The arrests were made following an FIR lodged at Balugaon police station on April 19.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused promised aspirants assistance with police verification, physical tests, and final placement in exchange for money. The scam targeted candidates who had appeared for the Navy recruitment examination in November 2024.

Khurda Superintendent of Police, Sagarika Nath, confirmed that the accused extorted significant amounts from candidates. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the racket and identify any additional individuals involved.
