India declared a Pakistani official working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi persona non grata on Wednesday for engaging in activities incompatible with his diplomatic status. The official has been instructed to leave India within 24 hours.

This marks the second such incident within a fortnight, following India's earlier expulsion of another Pakistan High Commission official.

Previously, on Tuesday, 13 May, a Pakistani diplomat had similarly been given 24 hours to depart India.

The Chargé d'Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission was summoned and presented with a formal diplomatic protest (démarche) regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, India strongly rejected Pakistan's "baseless" allegations that India had plotted a bomb attack on a school bus in Balochistan's Khuzdar region.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated it had become "second nature" for Pakistan to blame India for all its internal problems, calling this a tactic to divert attention from Pakistan's reputation as the "global epicentre of terrorism."

"This attempt to hoodwink the world is doomed to fail," said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

The suicide attack on Wednesday killed at least five people, including three children, and left several others injured.
