Jaunpur: Similar to the plot of the blockbuster Bollywood movie, 'Stree', starring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur has been dressing as a woman for the past 36 years as reportedly he feared a 'ghost'. Notably, in the movie also men dressed as women to save their lives from 'Stree'.
The man said that a spirit harassed him and to save his life he started dressing up as a woman, reported News 18. He reportedly married three times. The man claimed that it was the spirit of his second wife that threatened him and his life was in danger.
He further said that seven of his nine sons had died. “After her death, I had this dream, and her soul is troubling me, which has forced me to live like a woman. Seven of my nine sons have also died," he said as reported by News18.
After the incident surfaced, it became a matter of debate in the surrounding villages. Some of the locals considered that the man dressed as a woman due to a mental illness, while others believed that it was because of "ghosts". However, the exact reason is not known.
