New Delhi: In a shocking incident of breach of security in Delhi’s diplomatic enclave, Congress MP M Sudha was the victim of a chain-snatching incident near the Poland Embassy in Chanakyapuri on August 4.
The accused, who fled on a two-wheeler after injuring the parliamentarian, has now been arrested, and the stolen necklace has been recovered, the Delhi Police confirmed on Wednesday, August 6.
"The case of snatching of chain of Hon'ble Member of Parliament has been solved. The accused has been arrested and the chain has been recovered. More details shall be shared in due course," the police said.

What Did the Congress MP Say?
M Sudha, a Lok Sabha member from Tamil Nadu, was reportedly out for a walk early in the morning when the snatcher struck. The assailant grabbed her gold chain, weighing over four sovereigns, and injured her neck during the attack.
In a message to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sudha said, "Sir, I have suffered injury on my neck, lost my gold chain weighing more than four sovereigns, and I am highly traumatised by this criminal attack," as quoted by India Today. She also raised concerns over the lack of safety even in high-security zones, especially for women.
Accused Nabbed from Okhla
Following the incident, multiple Delhi Police teams were assigned to the case. The suspect, who is a resident of Okhla, has been taken into custody. The chain has also been successfully recovered. Authorities are yet to release further details about the motive or criminal history of the accused.\
