Mainpuri, (Uttar Pradesh), June 15: In a shocking incident, an accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri on Sunday, where a Mahindra Scorpio hit an e-rickshaw and rammed into the wall of an under-construction house. A video of the aftermath of the accident has surfaced on the internet which shows the impact of the speeding SUV. The Scorpio is seen on the e-rickshaw while hitting the wall.
As per reports, the fast-moving Scorpio car went out of control near Achalpur village on Etah-Mainpuri Road which falls under the Auchha Police Station area.
Details About The Incident
The speeding Scorpio broke through the wall of an under-construction house on the roadside and climbed onto a parked e-rickshaw. Luckily, the e-rickshaw was empty at the time of the incident, so no one was injured.
Car Occupants Were 'Drunk'
The villagers reportedly said that the people present inside the Scorpio car during the time of the accident were drunk. Just before the accident, they were involved in another road mishap and were trying to run away from the police. The accident occurred while they were trying to evade the police.
Rickshaw Damaged
The impact was so strong that the e-rickshaw got badly damaged and the Scorpio ended up on its roof. A large crowd gathered at the spot and informed the police. Fortunately, no passengers were in the rickshaw, or the accident could have been very serious.
People present at the spot recorded the incident and made the video viral on social media. The video shows the Scorpio resting on the roof of the e-rickshaw and a crowd gathered at the accident site.
Police Action
The Auchha police quickly reached the spot and seized both the Scorpio and the e-rickshaw. They said an investigation is underway and strict legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
Police Statement
Later, police said that the Scorpio driver claimed he was trying to avoid hitting a stray animal, which caused the crash. Both parties agreed to a mutual settlement and no official complaint has been filed. However, police have still taken the vehicle to the station.
