A video of a distraught father pleading for help to find his missing daughter has gone viral on social media from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao.

According to reports, the incident pertains to a minor girl who has been missing since May 6 after she didn't return home from school. Despite four days having passed, police have reportedly failed to locate the teenager.

The viral video shows the father breaking down in tears at the Sadar Kotwali police station, accusing the station in-charge of negligence in investigating his daughter's disappearance.

In the emotional footage, the father can be heard saying, "Kotwali se chowki ke chakkar laga rahe hain. Aaj asha thi ki beti mil jayegi, lekin ab kehte hain ki ab dhoondte raho, apni beti ko nahi paoge..." (We're being sent back and forth between the police station and outpost. Today I had hope that my daughter would be found, but now they're telling me to keep searching, that I won't find my daughter...)

The video shows the man weeping inconsolably while pleading, "We want justice."

After the video went viral on social media, Uttar Pradesh Police took cognizance of the matter and has directed Unnao Police to take necessary action in the case.
