Delhi Elections 2025: Swati Maliwal Accuses Delhi CM Atishi Of Sacrilege During Poll Campaign, Calls It ‘Besharmi Wala Kaam’ |

Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, in a social media post, launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji Assembly seat, Atishi, and accused her of 'sacrilege' during the poll campaign.

Sharing a clip of Atishi's roadshow, Swati said, "Atishi Marlena ji's faith in religion was exposed in 2 minutes. She is disrespecting the sacred saropa of Gurudwara Sahib and the sacred chunri of Kalka Mata ji by throwing them behind like this."

"If you cannot respect religion, then do not disrespect it. What you have done is an extremely shameless act," she added.

Notably, saropa is a robe of honor given as a mark of respect in Sikhism, and chunri is a sacred cloth offering typically given to deities in Hindu temples.

In the clip shared by Swati Maliwal, Atishi can be seen removing the saropa and chunri and passing them to her staff.

Swati Maliwal's attack comes after Atishi failed to file her nomination papers earlier today for Delhi Assembly elections.

Atishi, who was expected to file her nomination papers, visited Kalkaji temple and took the blessings of 'Kalka mai'. Then she arrived at Giri Nagar Gurudwara along with former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.

After she failed to reach on time to file her nomination, Atishi held a roadshow. The voting for Delhi Assembly Elections will take place on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.

Aam Aadmi Party, Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress Party are the main contenders in the Delhi Elections.
