New Delhi: In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly Elections, Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, on Sunday launched a crowdfunding campaign to contest the upcoming polls.

During a press conference, Atishi shared an online donation link and emphasized the importance of public support for her campaign.

Describing the crowdfunding campaign as the "biggest proof of honesty," she said, "The BJP gains power through money and earns more money when in power. They might have accumulated so much that they don't need to collect funds for elections. However, we run our government with honesty and sustain our households on our salaries. That is why we seek people's support to fight elections. Today, our crowdfunding initiative stands as a testament to our integrity. With the BJP's candidate list, it is evident that they are struggling to find candidates for the elections, as they are yet to announce 12 candidates."

Atishi stated that she needed Rs 40 lakh to contest the elections and appealed to the public for contributions to her crowdfunding campaign.

"Together, we can continue this journey of progress and hope," she said in a social media post, using the hashtag #DonateForAtishi.

The AAP, she added, has always relied on small donations from the common man to pursue its politics of work and honesty.

The voting for Delhi Assembly Elections will take place on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.

Aam Aadmi Party, Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress Party are the main contenders in the Delhi Elections.
