Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad`s older brother-in-law Anirudh Prasad aka Sadhu Yadav on Friday launched a blistering attack on his own brother Subhash Yadav after the latter alleged that Lalu mediated deals in graft and kidnapping cases when he was in power in Bihar from 1990 to 2005.

Subhash had earlier accused Lalu of playing a key role in negotiations with criminals to fix deals in cases of corruption and kidnapping.

Hitting back at former Rajya Sabha member Subhash for his allegations against Lalu, his older brother and MP Sadhu Yadav asked why he was silent for 35 years, adding that he had told Lalu at that time too not to promote Subhash.

“Subhash is making baseless allegations. The fact is that criminals and gangsters used to assemble at his residence,” he alleged while intensifying the attack on his brother.

Subhash was close to Lalu and his sister and former chief minister Rabri Devi as he had a great influence over the government when the husband-wife duo were in power. The relationship between Lalu and Subhash turned sour nearly one decade ago. Subhash`s allegations against Lalu came when the political atmosphere is heating up in the state in view of the state assembly election, due in October-November.

Responding to Subash’s allegations, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari said that Subhash was making allegations against Lalu out of his personal vendetta.

Deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary claimed that  criminals were  getting patronage from the chief minister`s residence when RJD ruled the state. "How people could trust Lalu when lakhs of people had to migrate to other states due to the rising crime graph, stagnant development and growing unemployment," he alleged.

State BJP president and revenue minister Dileep Jaiswal ‘thanked’ Subhash for revealing the truth of Lalu-Rabri regime. He said that both Sadhu and Subhash were ‘very close’ to chief minister Rabri Devi as well as chief minister's residence and so people ought to know the truth of all these allegations.

On the other hand, senior BJP leader and PHED minister Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu contended that now Lalu`s relatives were confirming ‘jungle raj’ was prevailing in Bihar when he was in power.

Taking a dig at Subhash, state Congress spokesperson Anand Madhav alleged that nobody had any problem till he was made MLA, MLC and MP but started spewing venom once denied any such post.
