Patna, July 29: The political heat in Bihar is rising as the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is closing in. In a shocking incident, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav who is also the estranged son of Lalu Prasad Yadav has openly questioned his party after fellow RJD MLA Bhai Virendra from Maner landed in a controversy over alleged caste-based remarks and threats against a SC/ST community member.
Tej Pratap Yadav took to his official social media account and said, “Will RJD take action against my MLA brother Bhai Virendra, who made a shameful comment against the SC-ST community and even issued a death threat, against the ideals of Baba Saheb Ambedkar? I was removed from the party under a conspiracy by traitors."

He also said, "Now let’s see if the party shows the same strictness against those creating this chaos. Respect for the Constitution should be seen in action, not just in speeches.”
Background of the Controversy
Bhai Virendra is facing serious allegations after Balua Panchayat Secretary Sandeep Kumar filed an FIR under the SC-ST Act. He accused the MLA of using abusinve and casteist language against him.. He further alleged that he issued threats and also tried to interfere in government work.
MLA Responds
Bhai Virendra has denied the allegations and also denied using any casteist words, saying if any such word was spoken, it was just a “slip of the tongue” and not intentional.
As per reports, he also mocked the Panchayat Secretary’s mental state and disability on camera, which further escalated the controversy.
Political and Legal Impact
Police are investigating the FIR under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, which could lead to legal action if the allegations are proven.
The remarks have sparked widespread criticism, with opposition parties calling it an insult to Dalits, while some RJD supporters claim it is a political conspiracy.

Tej Pratap’s tweet suggests internal tension within RJD, as he compares his own expulsion from the party to the treatment of Bhai Virendra.
Tej Pratap Yadav earlier announced that he will contest the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 as independent candidate from Mahua. He is currently the MLA of Hasanpur seat in Samastipur district.
