Wanted Punjabi singer Baaz Sran was finally arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Haryana on Wednesday for his involvement in a major drug case, after he successfully managed to evade arrest for nearly a decade. His name cropped up in an investigation related to the seizure of 36.150 kg of opium.
According to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh Zonal Unit, Baaz, who is a resident of Sirsa, Haryana, was declared as the proclaimed offered in 2016 after the seizure of the massive quantity of opium. However, he had been evading arrest for the past nine years, by frequently changing his identity and location, NCB officials said.
In May 2025, NCB published his details in leading newspapers and also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for any information that would help them arrest him. And finally, on Wednesday, he was nabbed by NCB, thus ending the years and years of chase.

Interestingly, it was during this period when he was absconding that he gained popularity as a singer. Originally named Jagsir Singh, also known as Kala, he created the alias 'Baaz Sran', while evading the NCB and building his music career.
He recorded and dropped his songs on YouTube and Instagram, and within a short span, he became a widely known singer online. He has almost 33,000 followers on Instagram, and his music videos garner millions of views online. He has songs like Kare Rabb Khair, Sarkari Kothi, Tera Darji, Loaded Yaar, Asla, Gal Ni Bani, and others to his credit.
His team is yet to issue an official statement on his arrest.
