About Kingdom
Meanwhile, Vijay has been extensively promoting his upcoming film, Kingdom, which presents him in a never-seen-before avatar. The film is set against the backdrop of the post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil conflict.
Kingdom will see Vijay romance actress Bhagyashree Borse, and Satyadev plays a key role in the film. The film is packed with action and Vijay wil be seen embarking on a gory quest.
Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, Kingdom was earlier supposed to hit the silver screens on May 30, however, the release was delayed, and it was pushed to July 4.
The release of the film was once again postponed, and it will not finally be up in theatres on July 31.
Vijay Deverakonda's legal troubles
Meanwhile, Vijay also found himself in the centre of multiple controversies in the past few days. In June, he was booked under the SC/ST Act due to his controversial remarks on the tribal community at a Hyderabad event in April.
Speaking on the India-Pakistan tensions at the event, Vijay had said, "India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. They behave like tribals did 500 years ago, fighting without common sense," and this had irked the tribal community.

Besides, he was also booked in an illegal betting app scam case earlier this month, as he was accused of promoting malicious betting apps and misguiding the youth.
