Veteran actor Prakash Belawadi, who has been a part of several Hindi and Kannada films, revealed how members of a well-known Kannada film banner once vandalised his vanity van and even defecated inside it only because the actor refused to reduce his fees. Without naming the production house, Prakash told Just Curious India that he would never work with them again even if they pay him Rs 10 lakh per day.

"I acted in a movie under a big banner. I won’t tell the name because I’m scared of them. I’m scared not in the sense if they’ll give me a role or not. If they give me a role, I’ll never work with the banner, even if they offer ₹10 lakh per day," he stated.

Prakash then revealed, "Because I wouldn’t bend down my rate, but the director wanted me to, they did not pay me the last chunk of money. On the last day of shoot, they sent people to my vanity van. Four of them ate, threw meat everywhere, emptied the water and shat. It was very hot and I had to sit outside because it was so stinky."

Prakash clarified that not everyone in the Kannada film industry was that "extreme", and hinted that only those who do not originally belong to Karnataka resort to such objectionable behaviour.

"Most of the producers (who do this) aren’t Kannadigas. If you work with the Rajkumar family, that’s different; they’re very cultured," he stated.

Prakash is one of the most renowned names in Kannada theatre circles. he has been a part of several south films including Thandel, Made In Bengaluru, Pentagon, Vrithra, and others. In Bollywood, he has acted in films like Madras Cafe, India Lockdown, The Kashmir Files, Airlift, The Tashkent Files, among others.
