A couple of days ago, an account named Ramya Mohan posted on social media that she knows a girl who was sexually exploited by Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. Now, on Wednesday, while talking to Deccan Chronicle, the actor denied the allegations and called it a ‘filthy accusation’. He stated, “Anyone who knows me even remotely will laugh at this. I know myself too. This kind of filthy accusation can’t upset me.”
He added, “My family and close friends are upset, but I tell them, ‘Let it slide. This woman is obviously doing it to be noticed. She has her few minutes of fame, let her enjoy it’.” The actor also revealed that his lawyers are working on it, and they have filed a complaint with Cyber Crime.
‘Whispering Campaigns’ Against Vijay Sethupathi
The actor says that he has faced all kinds of whispering campaigns in the past seven years, so such targeting doesn’t affect him. Vijay feels that probably someone has done this out of jealousy, as his recently released film Thalaivan Thalaivii is doing well at the box office.
“My new film is doing well. Probably, some jealous elements think that by tarnishing me, they can damage my film. It doesn’t work that way. In today’s day and age, anyone can say anything about anybody. There are no filters. All you need is an account on social media, and you can write what you like without fear of repercussion,” he concluded.
Thalaivan Thalaivii Box Office Collection
Thalaivan Thalaivii, which also stars Nithya Menen, has collected Rs. 28.75 crore at the box office in five days. Reportedly, the movie is made on a budget of Rs. 25-30 crore. So, it already seems to be a profitable venture for its makers.
