'Terrible Experience': Game Changer Editor SLAMS S Shankar's Unprofessionalism, Claims He Trimmed Film From 7.5 to 3.5 Hours Before Quitting

Game Changer editor Shameer Muhammed slammed director S. Shankar's unprofessionalism, calling his experience 'terrible'. He added, "I ended up staying in Chennai for 300–350 days." Despite editing the 7.5-hour film down to 3.5 hours, he quit after a new editor was brought in. "He would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days," shared Shameer.

Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, was one of the most anticipated movies and released earlier this year. However, it failed miserably at the box office. Months later, the film's editor, Shameer Muhammed, has slammed director S. Shankar for his unprofessionalism, calling it a 'terrible experience.' He revealed that he quit the project after turning down several other offers to focus solely on Game Changer.

Shameer shared that he spent an entire year working on Game Changer. In a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies, he said, "I went there for three years. It was in the last six months that I was told I would have to stay with them for another month. I had a sketch here, so I came at that time. When I was editing, the film was 7–7.5 hours long. I made it three and a half hours. After that, a new editor came in and shortened it to 2.5–3 hours."

Further calling out S. Shankar’s unprofessionalism, he said that he had joined the project with great excitement, but things felt like they were happening 'in some other world' altogether. Shameer added, "He (S Shankar) would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days. The same pattern continued for several days, and I ended up staying in Chennai for 300–350 days."

Shameer shared that another editor, Ruben, took over the project after he quit the film.

Shameer explained that since he had already missed out on other opportunities while working on Game Changer, he didn’t want to lose out on films like Marco and Ajayante Randam Moshanam. He added, "Then I left the film. It would have been a terrible mistake if I had left AR and Marco for Game Changer."
