Tollywood superstar Ram Charan reportedly took a pay cut after his upcoming film, Game Changer, failed to meet the original deadlines. The film, which is mounted on a massive budget, faced significant delays, and thus, the actor, as well as the director of the film, Shankar, decided to slash their fees to compensate for the increased production cost.
As per a report in Great Andhra, Ram Charan agreed to take a pay cut for Game Changer and took home Rs 65 crore as his remuneration for the project. After the mammoth success of RRR, the actor was reportedly charging Rs 100 crore per film, but he agreed to cut down on the paycheck for Game Changer due to the delays.
Director Shankar too slashed his fees and charged Rs 35 crore for Game Changer to ease the pressure on the producers. Kiara Advani, who plays the female lead in the film, reportedly got herself a paycheck of Rs 5-7 crore.
The makers have, however, not confirmed the figures yet.
Game Changer makers justify ₹75 crore budget for songs
Game Changer has been mounted on a massive budget of Rs 450 crore, out of which Rs 75 crore was spent on the four songs in the film. The official music partners of the film later shared a post on X, justifying the staggering amount for four songs.
The music label, Saregama, revealed that all four songs -- Jaragandi, Raa Macha Macha, Naanaa Hyraanaa and Dhop -- were made on a massive scale, with hundreds of dancers and extravagant sets.
While Jaragandi was choreographed by Prabhu Deva and shot over 13 days with 600 dancers, Raa Macha Macha has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and features 1000 dancers.
The makers claimed that Naanaa Hyraanaa, which was shot in New Zealand, is the first Indian song to be shot with an infrared camera. In the song Dhop, choreographed by Jani Master, the makers got 100 Russian dancers on board.
Game Changer is all set to hit the silver screens on January 10, making it the first big release of 2025.
