Actress Akanksha Puri was severely criticised on Thursday after she was spotted posing with her kitten on the streets of Mumbai. Netizens slammed the actress for manhandling the kitten and scaring it, all in a bid to click pictures with it.
In the video that has now gone viral, Akanksha can be seen pulling the kitten out of her pet backpack, without taking the bag off her shoulder. The kitten appeared visibly scared as she posed with it in front of the paparazzi, and this did not sit well with netizens, who accused the actress of animal cruelty.
"Pulling them like this and treating them this way is so not done," a user commented under the video, while another wrote, "Why is she pulling the kitten out like that?? This is so not okay." A netizen wrote, "If you don't know how to take care of these fur babies than kindly stay out of it." "Please stop using your pet as a prop," another stated.
The actress has not responded to the backlash yet.
