Aamir Khan starrer Sitaare Zameen Par, which was released on last Friday, June 20, 2021, did an excellent business at the box office during its first weekend. The movie collected Rs. 58.15 crore at the box office in three days. Now, all eyes were on Monday's collection. It was expected that there would be a drop on Monday, but there were hopes that the movie might continue to collect a double-digit amount. However, that didn't happen.
According to Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par on its fourth day collected approx. Rs. 8.88 crore. Well, it is not a bad number, but clearly, a double-digit amount would have been much better. In four days, the movie has collected Rs. 67.03 crore.
Sitaare Zameen Par Beats Laal Singh Chaddha
Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha had collected Rs. 61.36 at the box office, and it was a disaster. However, in just four days, Sitaare Zameen Par has surpassed the lifetime collection of Aamir's last release, which is surely a positive sign for the movie.
However, the film needs to be stable at the box office on weekdays to collect a good amount by the end of its first week. For now, it looks like the movie might collect around Rs. 85-90 crore at the box office is seven days.
Sitaare Zameen Par Budget
Meanwhile, reportedly, Sitaare Zameen Par is made on a budget of Rs. 90 crore. Aamir has not yet sold the movie to any OTT platform, so the business of the film solely depends on the theatrical collection.
In week 2, the film will face competition from Kajol starrer Maa. However, we can expect that the family audience will opt for Sitaare Zameen Par over Maa. So, let's wait and watch whether the SZP will be able to collect a good amount during second weekend or not.
