Aamir Khan Meets President Droupadi Murmu At Rashtrapati Bhavan Amid Sitaare Zameen Par's Success

Actor Aamir Khan, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. He reportedly discussed his film with her, along with other aspects of the film industry. The actor also had a brief meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Actor Aamir Khan, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The actor also had a brief meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Aamir posed for a picture with Murmu and discussed his film with her, along with other aspects of the Indian film industry. The actor was dressed casually in a white kurta and jeans. Their photo was shared by the official handle of the President of India, with the caption, "Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Shri Aamir Khan called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan (sic)."

Aamir Khan meets Karnataka Chief Minister

While at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Aamir also had a chance encounter with the Karnataka CM. Sharing their photos, the Chief Minister's Office wrote, "When Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet the President, he had a brief encounter with the sensitive Bollywood actor-director Aamir Khan. They exchanged pleasantries and conveyed best wishes to each other (sic)."

Aamir jetted off to Delhi on Monday to attend a special screening of Sitaare Zameen Par hosted for Olympic and Paralympic champions.

Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par has been enjoying a tremendous run at the box office ever since it released on June 20. After growing by leaps and bounds over the weekend, the film has managed to mint Rs 67.03 crore in just four days.

In a bold move, Aamir also opted for a no-OTT release strategy, and has reportedly turned down multicrore deals by OTT giants to stream the film on their platforms.

Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia D'Souza and tells the story of a basketball coach who is tasked to guide a team of specially-abled individuals for a tournament.
