In a tragic turn of events, actor Mukul Dev passed away at the age of 54 on Friday, May 23, 2025, night. The actor had reportedly been unwell for a few days and breathed his last in Delhi. An official confirmation regarding the cause of his death is awaited. He was the brother of actor Rahul Dev.

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal, a close friend of Mukul Dev, confirmed the news of his passing on social media. She shared an Instagram Story with a throwback picture of the actor, writing "RIP" along with an emotional note that read, "I can't believe this Muks."
Vindu Dara Singh, who worked with Mukul in Son of Sardar, took to his X handle to mourn the loss and wrote, "Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!"
Who was Mukul Dev?
Born in New Delhi to a Punjabi family, Mukul was a versatile actor who appeared not only in Hindi films and television serials but also in a few Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films.
Mukul's father, Hari Dev, was an Assistant Commissioner of Police and played a significant role in shaping his early exposure to diverse cultures. He introduced Mukul to Afghan culture and was fluent in Pashto and Persian.
Mukul starred in several movies including Jai Ho with Salman Khan, Himmatwala, Mere Do Anmol Ratan, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, and Bhaag Johny, among others.
Apart from being an actor, Mukul was also a trained pilot from the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi.
