Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who won his first-ever National Film Award for Best Actor for his 2023 blockbuster Jawan, took to social media on Friday to thank his fans and team - all while sporting a sling due to a recent injury.
In a heartfelt video message, SRK appeared dressed in a black t-shirt and beanie, with his arm in a sling. The actor is currently recovering from an injury he reportedly sustained while filming his upcoming action drama King.
Despite being injured, the actor didn't let that stop him from striking his signature arms-spread pose - albeit with just one arm this time.
Known for his trademark wit, Shah Rukh joked in the video, "I would love to spread my arms for you and share my love, but I'm a bit indisposed. But don't worry, just keep the popcorn ready. I'll be back in theaters and soon on the street. So, till then, just with one hand. Ready?"

He also used the moment to express gratitude to the filmmakers who played a significant role in his comeback year. "So, thank you, Raju sir. Thank you, Saeed. And especially thanks to Atlee sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in Jawan and trusting me to deliver and be worthy of this award," SRK added.
Along with the video, he wrote, "Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B ministry. Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today."
After a four-year break from the silver screen, Shah Rukh made a grand return in January 2023 with Pathaan, which shattered box office records. He followed it up with Jawan, directed by Atlee, where he portrayed a double role, as a soldier father and a vigilante son.
The film struck a chord with audiences and critics alike, thanks to its impactful social message, action-packed sequences, and SRK’s powerful monologue.
Jawan not only became an all-time blockbuster but also earned Shah Rukh the long-overdue recognition from the National Awards jury, a moment the superstar marked in true King Khan style, even with just one functioning arm.
Meanwhile, on the work front, he will be seen in King with his daughter Suhana Khan. If reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji and others, are also a part of the film.
