South superstar Nagarjuna's younger son Akhil Akkineni and artist Zainab Ravdjee are all set to tie the knot in March this year. The couple announced their engagement in November 2024, just weeks before Akhil's brother Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's wedding.
According to a report in India Today, Akhil and Zainab will tie the knot on March 24 in an intimate ceremony which will be attended by their friends and family members.
Reportedly, Akhil has chosen the ancestral Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad as the venue for his wedding, the same iconic location where Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita tied the knot on December 4, 2024. However, there’s also speculation that the couple might go for a destination wedding.
An official confirmation is yet to be made by the families of the couple.
When Akhil and Zainab had announced their engagement, they received hate for the age difference between them and also for belonging to different religions. In fact, the actor disabled his Instagram comments hours after announcing his engagement.
While Akhil did not respond to the hate messages, he simply deactivated the comments section under the engagement post to avoid the barrage of hate coming the soon-to-be-wed couple's way.
Nagarjuna had also welcomed Zainab into his family with a heartfelt post on social media. Sharing a picture of Akhil and Zainab on X, he wrote, "We are thrilled to announce the engagement of our son, @AkhilAkkineni8, to our daughter in law to be Zainab Ravdjee! We couldn't be happier to welcome Zainab into our family. Please join us to congratulate the young couple and wish them a lifetime filled with love, joy, and your countless blessings (sic)."
Zainab is the daughter of industrialist Zulfi Ravdjee, who is known to be a pioneer in the construction industry. Her brother, Zain Ravdjee, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Hyderabad's ZR Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd.
Media reports have stated that Zainab is an artist who is known for her abstract and impressionistic paintings. She also organises exhibitions. Her work reflects themes of nature, balance, and cultural influences.
According to media reports, Zainab is 39 years old. She was born and brought up in Hyderabad. Akhil and Zainab have an age gap of nine years as Akhil is 30 years old presently.
