Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen recently made a big revelation about her plans of getting married. The actress, who was rumoured to be dating actor-model Rohman Shawl, came LIVE on Instagram to interact with her fans and followers and that is when she opened up about her wish to tie the knot.
Reacting to fans' queries on her plans of getting married, the 49-year-old actress said, "I want to get married as well. Milna chahiye na koi shaadi karne layak. Aise thodi hoti hai shaadi. Kehte hai na, bohot romantic way mein dil ka rishta hota hai. Dil tak baat toh pahunchni chahiye na. Shaadi bhi kar lenge (There should be someone worthy of marriage, right? Marriage doesn’t just happen like that. As they say, a heart-to-heart connection is formed in a very romantic way. The feelings should reach the heart first, right? Then I'll get married too)."
In an interview with Film Companion in February 2024, Sushmita had said that she knows the whole world thinks she should give a 'damn' about getting married at this stage, but she does not. Further explaining the reason, she said that it's only because she loves and respects the institution of marriage.
"But I'm a big believer of companionship, dosti (friendship). And if that exists, things can happen. But that respect and dosti is very, very important. And freedom, very very important. So I give a damn about freedom," the actress had stated.
Meanwhile, in 2021, Sushmita confirmed her breakup with Rohman on her Instagram handle. She wrote, "We began as friends, we remain friends!!! The relationship was long over… the love remains."
Ever since the duo's breakup, the duo has been spotted together on several occasions. She was also rumoured to be dating Lalit Modi earlier.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sushmita was last seen in the third season of the crime-thriller web series Aarya, which received positive reviews from the audience. She also played the role of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in Taali, and though the series failed to make a mark, Sushmita's performance was lauded by critics.
The actress has not announced any upcoming project yet.
