Ashwin Kumar's animated feature Mahavatar Narsimha has continued its strong run at the box office, crossing the Rs 50 crore India nett mark in just eight days. The film, which has surprised many with its exceptional performance, earned around Rs 7.70 crore on Friday (August 1) for all languages, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 52.45 crore.
The film's India gross total now stands at whopping Rs 62.40 crore.
Opening modestly at Rs 2.29 crore on Day 1, Mahavatar Narsimha has witnessed consistent growth throughout its first week, driven by strong word-of-mouth and family audiences.

With an overall 42.03 per cent Telugu occupancy and 30.20 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday, the film has continued to draw viewers across linguistic markets.
Industry analysts have labelled the film a "surprise hit," especially given the niche genre of Indian animated mythological cinema. Its steady trending over the weekdays and solid Friday numbers indicate a positive trajectory as it heads into its second weekend.
While the film is poised to add significantly to its box office total, it will face new competition starting this weekend with the release of Son of Sardaar 2 starring Ajay Devgn and Dhadak 2, a romantic drama featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.
Mahavatar Narsimha has struck a chord with audiences looking for mythological storytelling presented through a fresh, animated lens. If current trends continue, the film is likely to emerge as one of the most successful animated Indian films in recent years.
Directed by Ashwin and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under Kleem Productions, Mahavatar Narsimha is presented by Hombale Films. The film was released in 3D and in five Indian languages on July 25 and is based on the mythological incarnation of Lord Vishnu - Narsimha.
The film has garnered positive reviews from both critics and early viewers, with praise directed towards its animation quality, dramatic treatment, and mythological accuracy.
With solid regional backing and rising pan-India buzz, the spotlight is now on the film's performance in its second weekend.
