Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra reacted after BookMyShow delisted him and removed his content following backlash over his "traitor" remark aimed at Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde during a Mumbai show. This came after Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Rahool Kanal urged the platform to drop him.

BookMyShow, the online ticketing platform, on Saturday, removed all content related to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra and delisted him from its website amid backlash over his remarks calling Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde a 'traitor' (Gaddar) during his Naya Bharat performance at Habitat Studio in Mumbai. This came after Shiv Sena Yuva Sena (Shinde faction) General Secretary Rahool Kanal urged BookMyShow not to provide a platform to Kunal Kamra following his controversial remarks.

Hours later, Kamra reacted to BookMyShow's decision to remove him from its list of artists and hit back at the platform. Taking to his X (Twitter), the comedian wrote, "Hello @bookmyshow can you please confirm if I have your platform to list my shows if not it’s fine. I understand…"

After BookMyShow removed all the content about him from the website, Rahool N Kanal expressed gratitude to the platform's CEO Ashish Hemrajani for keeping its portal "clean and keeping such artist out of the list of pure entertainment."

Earlier, Kanal was booked along with Shiv Sainiks for allegedly vandalising The Habitat standup comedy set in Mumbai, where comedian Kamra performed his set, where he presented a parody song on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde.

In response, Kunal refused to apologise, stating, "I will not apologise. What I said is exactly what Mr. Ajit Pawar (1st Deputy CM) said about Mr. Eknath Shinde (2nd Deputy CM). I don't fear this mob, and I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down."

The police's actions escalated further recently when they visited Kunal's old residence in Mahim, only to find that he had not lived there for the past 10 years.

The Mumbai Police have filed three cases against Kamra. He subsequently approached the Madras High Court and secured interim protection from arrest.

Kamra is yet to appear before the Mumbai Police to record his statement despite three summons served on him.
