Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently opened up on why South films are outshining Hindi movies and stated that people in Bollywood are detached from the reality world, which is why their films often underperform at the box office.

The actress told Aaj Tak, "Pehele toh mujhe nahi lagta ke Bollywood or Hindi cinema ne mainstream hone ka theka liya hua hai. They are not mainstream by any standard. Our films should be defined as the Indian film industry, one industry in which every type of audience is addressed," Kangana added

Taking a dig at Bollywood celebrities, Kangana said the people in the industry live in a bubble, which is one of the main reasons why films underperform at the box office as they are not willing to come out of that bubble.

"All they need is to go to the gym, take protein shakes, take injections. They don't have any connection with reality. Inko chaiyeh six pack abs, hot babe, beach, bike, item number bas bahut hai. It is important to have a reality check," she concluded.

On the work front, Kangana is awaiting the release of Emergency. It was initially scheduled for release on September 6 this year. However, the film's release was postponed due to a delay in CBFC certification, caused by concerns over religious sentiments and sensitive content.

Recently, the film was cleared by the CBFC. It is now scheduled for a theatrical release on January 17, 2025.

Announcing the release date, Ranaut wrote, "17th January 2025 – The epic saga of the nation’s most powerful woman and the moment that altered India’s destiny. #Emergency – Unveils Only in cinemas!"
