Genelia Deshmukh will next be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par which stars Aamir Khan as the male lead. Recently, during an interview, when discussing her working hours, the actress revealed that she works 10 hours a day and sometimes, when the director asks, the shift gets extended to 11-12 hours.
The actress told Zoom, "It is tough, but it is not impossible. I do work for 10 hours a day, and there are days when the director asks to extend it to 11 or 12 hours. I think it’s fair, but we just need time to make those adjustments. When you have a day or two where you have to overdo, it’s also an understanding and a process that needs to be done.”
For the past few weeks, one thing that has become the topic of discussion is the working hours for actresses who are new mothers. It started after a report claimed that Deepika Padukone told Sandeep Reddy Vanga that she can only work for eight hours a day for his film Spirit as she is a new mother. However, reportedly, things between the actress and Vanga didn't work out, and she opted out of the film.
Many celebs have been asked about their opinion about eight hours of work shift for actresses who are new mothers. A few days ago, when at the trailer launch of Maa, Ajay was asked about filmmakers having issues with actresses asking for an 8-hour shift, the actor-filmmaker said, “It's not that it's not going down well with people. Most of the honest filmmakers will not have problems with it. And apart from this, being a mother and working for eight hours, most people have started working eight-nine hours shifts.”
Sitaare Zameen Par Release Date
Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is directed by RS Prasanna, is slated to release on June 12, 2025. The pre-release buzz of the film is decent, and it is movie that highly depends on word of mouth.
