Amid the ongoing controversy between Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, on Thursday, at the trailer launch of Kajol's Maa, Ajay Devgn opened up about actresses who are new mothers asking for eight-hour shifts. When Ajay and Kajol were asked about filmmakers having issues with eight hours of shift for new mothers, Kajol said, "I love the fact that you can work less."
But Ajay took over and said, "Sorry to interrupt. It is not that it is not going well, people understand. Honest filmmakers will not have a problem with this, and apart from being a mother and working for eight hours, people usually have started working for eight to nine hours. So, I think it is person-to-person, and most of the industry does understand all this."

Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have been making it to the headlines as reportedly the actress left the movie Spirit, and the filmmaker felt that she was unprofessional. There were reports that Deepika demanded that she would work for only eight hours as she is a new mother, she asked for Rs. 20 crore as remuneration plus profit sharing, and was not ready to say Telugu dialogues. While there's no confirmation about these reports, it was later announced that Triptii Dimri will be seen as the female lead in Spirit.
Later there were a reports which claimed that Spirit will be an A-rated film as there will be bold scenes between Prabhas and Triptii. After this report came out, Vanga called it 'Dirty PR Games'.
Without mentioning anyone's name, He tweeted, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are.... Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for ? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo....
