Renowned singer Guru Randhawa grabbed eyeballs on Sunday night after he penned a cryptic note on his social media handle. The timing of his post raised eyebrows as it came in the midst of the 'Punjab vs Panjab' row, stirred by a post by Punjabi sensation, Diljit Dosanjh.

For those unversed, Diljit stirred a controversy after he wrote the spelling of Punjab as 'Panjab' in his tweet announcing his Chandigarh concert. Netizens stated that the spelling of Punjab that was written by the singer is used by the Pakistani side for the region.

Not just that, but netizens also noticed that while Diljit put a tricolour emoticon in all of his other concert posts, he skipped it in his 'Panjab' post.

And while the singer was being criticised for the same, Guru Randhawan took to his X handle and without any explanation, wrote, "PUNJAB" along with a tricolour emoticon.

While people assumed it to be Randhawa's dig at Diljit, the High Rated Gabru singer did not reveal the reason behind penning the abrupt note.

Meanwhile, Diljit is now in the final leg of his Dil-Luminati India tour, as he will be seen performing in Mumbai on December 19. He will conclude the tour on December 29 with a mega concert in Guwahati.

The Dil-Luminati India tour courted several controversies, and it all began after Diljit was banned from singing songs mentioning alcohol and violence in certain states. The singer then challenged the authorities to ban the sale of liquor in the country, and vowed that if done so, he would never sing any song with the mention of alcohol in it.

He also addressed the reports of black marketing of his concert tickets, and stated that it was not his fault if people were indulging in illegal activities after buying his passes.
