Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh finally ended his silence on the controversy that he triggered after spelling Punjab as 'Panjab' in one of his tweets. He also slammed netizens for crying conspiracy after the singer failed to use the tricolour emoticon in his viral tweet.

Diljit took to his X handle and wrote 'Punjab' in Punjabi script. "If the tricolour is missed once while mentioning Punjab in a tweet, it’s called a conspiracy. Even in a tweet about Bengaluru, it was missed once. If Punjab is written as Panjab, it’s called a conspiracy. Whether you write it as Panjab or Punjab...it will always remain ਪੰਜਾਬ (sic)," he wrote.

He went on to explain, "Panj Aab - meaning Five Rivers...To those making conspiracies about English spellings from the language of foreigners — well done! I’ll start writing in Punjabi in the future...ਪੰਜਾਬ (sic)."

Slamming his haters, Diljit added, "I know you won’t stop. Keep going! How many times should we prove that...We LOVE INDIA. Come up with something new, guys! (sic)."

Not just that, but Diljit also responded to a fan who asked him to not bother about the haters and trolls. "I don't bother about them. But they make the lie seem the truth, and it's important to counter them," he wrote.

It all began when ahead of his concert in Chandigarh, Diljit penned a note announcing for his fans in which he spelled Punjab as 'Panjab', Netizens stated that the spelling he wrote is used on the Pakistani side, and slammed him for promoting it in India.

Not just that, but a section of netizens also pointed out that the singer did not use the tricolour emoji in the 'Panjab' tweet, while he did it for other cities.
