Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan finally broke her silence on her father, actor Saif Ali Khan, being attacked and stabbed at his Mumbai residence in January this year. The actress mentioned how the incident could have gotten much worse, and shared that it made her realise the importance of life.
During her appearance on NDTV Yuva, Sara spoke about the affect that the incident had on the Khan family. "It could have gone so wrong... and I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder almost of the life we have," she said.
The Love Aaj Kal actress stated that while people talk about being grateful for life and taking care of mental health all the time, it is moments like these that make them realise the value of life.
"It's about making you realise how transient the things that you chase are. It didn't make me realise I love my father, I have known that for 29 years. It made me realise life can change overnight. So every second of every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise the importance of just being," she said.
"It takes somebody being almost attacked for you to be like, 'okay, life matters.' Life does matter. The small joys do matter. Celebrate everyday that you are alive," she added.
Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident
Said was attacked in the wee hours of January 16 in an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence. He was stabbed multiple times by the intruder when the actor tried to protect his youngest son Jeh.
While the intruder managed to flee, Saif rushed himself to the Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent a surgery.
After a massive manhunt, the intruder was eventually nabbed by the Mumbai Police.

However, the incident has left the family scarred, and Kareena Kapoor Khan has now requested the paparazzi to not follow her kids Taimur and Jeh around and click them, despite them having their separate fanbases online.
