Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to return to the silver screen with his film, Coolie, on August 14, and it is no less than a festival for his fans. As the advance bookings for the film opened in Kerala, fans were seen thronging the ticket windows and pushing each other to get their hands on the tickets.
In a video shared by the makers themselves, hundreds of fans can be seen gathered outside a theatre in Thrissur, waiting for the guards to open the gates. As soon as the gates were opened, the sea of fans spilled inside and they ran towards the ticket window.
Fans were even seen pushing each other and tripping, all in a bid to get their hands on the best seats in the theatre.
About Coolie
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie also stars Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and Upendra, in key roles. The trailer of the film was released a few days ago, and it sent fans of Rajinikanth into a frenzy.
The trailer introduced the ensemble cast of the film and gave fans glimpses of action-packed sequences and Rajinikanth's signature screen presence and swagger. However, it did not reveal any major plot details, which left fans guessing.
Is Coolie a sci-fi film?
One of the fan theories that is being widely circulated ever since the trailer was released is that it has elements of science-fiction and time travel.
Reacting to it, Kanagaraj said in an interview, "I used to read all those things but it actually surprises me as well. Just now I was discussing it with Sathyaraj sir that everybody says it's a sci-fi film and it's a time-travel film… I am so excited to see people, who are going to be surprised when they actually see what the film is all about."
Coolie is set to release in theatres on August 14, and it will clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2.
