Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who starred in the 2003 erotic thriller Jism—which also marked her ex-boyfriend, actor John Abraham's debut in Hindi cinema—recently revealed that she was advised against doing the film. At the peak of her career, her manager thought she had gone 'crazy' for accepting such a bold role.
The 46-year-old actress said told Times Now, "Jism was the time when I was at the peak, and everyone told me you cannot do adult content film. You are like the typical Hindi heroine who is established in people's hearts now. And I said, I just like the story so much. I said I'll go ahead and do it. Everybody stopped me from doing it. My manager thought I had gone crazy."
Furthermore, Bipasha shared how taking a risk at the peak of her career paid off and changed things for her since then. The actress stated that after Jism, women started tonging their hair just like hers and embraced the signature bronze makeup look from the film.
"There was no stereotypical (thing) that the woman can't play the negative character. It all changed after that. So it's been path breaking for me. That has been one very important film," Bipasha recalled.
On the work front, Bipasha has been away from the big screen for several years. She was last seen in the 2020 crime thriller web series Dangerous, which featured her husband, Karan Singh Grover, in the lead role.
It was directed by Bhushan Patel and co-produced by Mika Singh and Vikram Bhatt.

The actress is yet to announce her comeback project, leaving fans eagerly waiting for her return to the screen.
