Screenwriter Manoj Santoshi, recognised for his work on popular television comedy shows such as Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, and Jijaji Chhat Par Hai, is currently battling liver cancer. Actress Kavita Kaushik took to social media on Monday (February 17) to share an emotional post about his diagnosis. She also expressed gratitude towards fellow actress Shilpa Shinde for standing by Santoshi's side in this difficult period.

Sharing an old video of Santoshi singing at a house gathering while friends, including her, cheered him on, Kavita penned a touching note. She wrote, "You may know him as the writer of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Happu Paltan, Jeeja Ji Chhat Par, Madam May I Come In, and even the last few episodes of F.I.R.. He also contributed to Office Office and many other comedies. Today, I request you all to pray for Manoj Santoshi, as he is in the hospital with a crumbling liver."

The actor also gave a special mention to Shilpa Shinde, praising her for taking care of Santoshi during these tough times. Appreciating the efforts of Binaifer Kohli and her team, she further stated, "Angels like @binaiferkohli and her entire team are fighting to save him. Please pray for this wonderful human being. A big shoutout to the amazing @shilpa_shinde_official for looking after him."

Expressing her hopes for his recovery, she added, "Let’s all pray for him to revive back, may his pen have ink for several years to come, and may the world witness more of his creative talent. May this team not lose their friend, their bundle of creativity and joy, their buddy, their partner. I’m sending love to each and every one affected by this and praying day and night for a miracle."

Reacting to Kavita's post, actress Delnaaz Irani commented, "Our Yes Boss writer omg 🙏 get well soon Manoj ... prayers n strength." Actor Aamir Ali dropped a few folded hand emoticons.

Others also prayed for Santoshi's speedy recovery.
