Bollywood lyricist-screenwriter Manoj Muntashir slammed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap over his casteist and objectionable remarks against the Brahmin community and called him "mentally sick". He also issued an open challenge to Kashyap to pollute the Brahmin legacy if he can, and said that while the Brahmin community might still forgive him but the Hindus of the country won't.
On Saturday, Manoj took to his social media handles to issue a public warning to Kashyap to stop making derogatory remarks against the Brahmin community. "If you have less income, you have to control your expenses, and if you have less knowledge, then you have to control your words. Anurag Kashyap, you have both less income and less knowledge, so you must control both," he said.
Referring to Kashyap's derogatory remark on Brahmins, Manoj stated, "You don't have it in you to pollute even an inch of the Brahmin legacy. However, as you have expressed your desire, I would like to send some photographs to your house, then you decide on whom you want to spill your dirty water on (urinate on)".

Manoj then listed the names of some most respectable personalities and stalwarts belonging from the Brahmin community, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Adi Shankaracharya, Mangal Pandey, Lata Mangeshkar, Maha Kavi Kalidas, among others.
"I, a Brahmin give you an open challenge- pick one name from the 21 names given by me, and I will be sure to send you the photograph, and if you do not have it in you to act on your words, better learn to stay in your limits. Aukaat mein raho," the poet averred.
Manoj also went on to call Kashyap "mentally sick", and stated that if he does not have the money to get treated then the Brahmin community would step up to help him financially without any qualms.
"#AnuragKashyap ko meri khuli chetawani," he captioned the video.
What did Anurag Kashyap say?
It all began after Kashyap, while expressing his disappointment over the film, Phule, being held back by the Censor Board over caste-related elements, slammed the Brahmin community and accused them of oppression.
It escalated when a user wrote, "Brahmins are your father", to which the filmmaker replied, "Brahmin pe main m*****ga...Koi problem? (sic) (I'll pee on Brahmins)."
His derogatory comment resulted in a massive outrage, and several police complaints and FIRs were filed against the filmmaker for hurting the sentiments of the Brahmin community and indulging in hate speech.
Anurag Kashyap issues apology
Following the backlash, Kashyap issued an apology on Friday night, and said that his comment was taken out of context. He also said that his family members, including his daughter, have been receiving threats and hateful messages.
"This is my apology, not for my post, but for that one line taken out of context and the brewing hatred... So, if it's an apology you're looking for, then this is my apology," Kashyap wrote.
He also appealed to the Brahmin community to not target his family members and to direct their anger towards him alone. "Brahmins, please spare the women, even the scriptures teach this much decency," he wrote.
