Welcome To The Jungle, starring Akshay Kumar, was initially slated for release on December 20, 2024. However, the project has faced multiple setbacks. Recently, reports surfaced claiming the film had run into trouble due to financial disputes, including alleged non-payment of dues to actors and their staff, which led to the shoot being halted.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, a source close stated that Welcome To The Jungle was halted following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, as filming was scheduled to take place in Kashmir. "70% of the shoot of Welcome to the Jungle is already done. The remaining 30% was to be scheduled in Kashmir, but because of the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, the plan got pushed," the source added.
Earlier, a report in Pinkvilla stated that the last schedule of the film was shot in August 2023, but no further progress has been made in the last 9–10 months. The film's future is now uncertain as a major portion of the shoot still remains.
"The film has been on floors for over one and a half years now. There are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Some of the originally cast actors have left the film, and the remaining are still lending their support for the love of the franchise. They all believe that Welcome is a loved franchise, and are willing to adjust their dates to finish Welcome To The Jungle," the report added.
Welcome To The Jungle also stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Aftab Shivdasani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, and Sayaji Shinde.
