Lucknow: Actor Hasan Zaidi, known for TV shows like Rishtaa.com, Beintehaa, Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana and films such as Horror Story and Dishkiyaoon, is now making waves in music with a heartfelt twist. His latest track Batein, released on YouTube in collaboration with Kahfiyat Studios.
Born into a family deeply invested in theatre and literature, Zaidi’s upbringing in Aligarh, Lucknow, and Hardoi exposed him to a rich blend of Urdu literature, stagecraft, and artistic expression. His father, renowned poet Humayun Zafar Zaidi, shared close ties with literary figures like Javed Akhtar and Kaifi Azmi. Hasan’s journey from a BBA graduate to a Mumbai-based actor was fuelled by this cultural legacy.
In an interview, Zaidi recalled a casual evening with friends that led to the spontaneous creation of Batein. Composer Siddhant Mathur joined in, and the duo crafted the track live. Now, they’re working on several songs.

Zaidi believes his tracks are not just music but emotional time capsules. As Uttar Pradesh pushes for more cinema through policy and infrastructure, artists like him are finding a reason to return even if, as Zaidi notes, “Lucknow isn’t quite what it used to be.”
