Target Publications recently organized a workshop for Balwadi teachers from Save the Children India (Vipla Foundation), focusing on the theme of "Holistic Learning of Kids." The session, led by Sachin Kodolikar, Executive Director of Target Publications Pvt. Ltd., emphasised the importance of educational practices that go beyond academics to nurture well-rounded individuals.

Sachin Kodolikar speaks

"Education is not just about filling minds with knowledge; it’s about shaping individuals who can think critically, empathise, and contribute positively to society," said Kodolikar. He further explained that Target Publications is committed to empowering teachers to create learning environments where children develop essential life skills in addition to academic excellence, in line with the principles of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The workshop engaged 40 Balwadi teachers in interactive discussions and activities, encouraging them to foster skills such as communication, empathy, and mutual respect in their students. Kodolikar also stressed the importance of teachers' roles in counselling parents, highlighting the need for learning to extend beyond the classroom into the home environment.

Teachers share personal stories

A particularly touching moment during the session was when teachers shared personal stories about their years of service with the Vipla Foundation, some spanning over 35 years. They reflected on how they wanted their students to remember them, underscoring the deep impact of their work.

Samiksha Mayekar, Coordinator of Vipla Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm about the workshop, saying, "The session was truly inspiring. We saw a renewed energy in our teachers, and I’m confident they have gained practical strategies to enrich their teaching methods. We look forward to more collaborations with Target Publications."

Target Publications believes that workshops like these not only equip educators with effective teaching strategies but also reinforce the philosophy that holistic development is key to providing quality education.
