WBJEE Result 2025: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has postponed announcing the results of the WBJEE 2025, which were supposed to be announced today, August 7, according to media reports. A fresh date for the announcement is yet to be confirmed.
Reason for Postponement
As per media reports, the delay is in compliance with a Calcutta High Court directive. The court is hearing a suo motu contempt case filed by Justice Kausik Chanda, based on grievances raised by candidates included in the WBJEE and JEMAS-PG (Postgraduate Medical and Allied Sciences entrance test) merit lists.
The complainants have alleged that WBJEEB may have violated an earlier court order issued on May 21, 2025. On this basis, the High Court has prohibited the board from conducting the admission process, such as the declaration of results and counselling sessions, until the division bench decides on the pending application for stay, as per the Telegraph report.
Background
The WBJEE 2025 examination was conducted on April 27 in two sessions, of which the Paper I (Mathematics) was conducted from 11 AM to 1 PM. And Paper II (Physics & Chemistry) was conducted from 2 PM to 4 PM.
Despite delayed results at the initial stages because of legal issues relating to the state's revised OBC list, the process was back on track after a Supreme Court stay on the High Court's previous judgment.

Board's Previous Statement
WBJEEB Chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee had previously announced that the results would be out on August 7. She said the board had asked candidates to upload their updated caste certificate information on the WBJEE portal from July 31 to August 2.
"From today (July 31), candidates will have to upload details about their caste category certificate in the relevant section of the WBJEE portal till August 2. The board will sort out the data and incorporate updates of every candidate before coming up with the results," she said, as reported by news agency PTI.
What's Next?
With the court halting the announcement of results, candidates will now have to wait for the division bench to decide. The revised schedule is to be announced by WBJEEB only after legal clearance.
