NEET PG 2025 New Exam Date: The Supreme Court of India is likely to hear a crucial plea from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) tomorrow, June 6, 2025, seeking permission for the date to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam. The Board is requesting permission to conduct the exam on August 3, having previously been postponed from June 15.
Initially, the postgraduate medical entrance exam was to be held in two shifts. However, a hearing last week raised significant concerns about the two-shift system by the Supreme Court. The court observed that the conduct of the exam in multiple sessions may lead to inconsistency in difficulty levels, which could imply unfair advantages or disadvantages for the candidates.
For this, the NBE has now suggested holding NEET PG 2025 in a single shift nationwide. The board has moved an application seeking the court's official approval for conducting the new date and format.
The decision follows a petition issued by the United Doctors Front against the NBE's directive to conduct the exam in two sessions. The petition contended that the arrangement would jeopardize fairness and transparency in the assessment process.
At the last hearing, the Supreme Court had put out a notice on the petition and had also sought the response of the NBE. The court also instructed the board to make necessary logistical arrangements for the test to be held in a single uniform session. The court also assured the NBE that if additional time was required for preparation, it could come back and request an extension.
