The latest viral video by an Indian woman residing in Canada has attracted much attention for its bold report of the difficulty that job seekers face in a foreign land. The Instagram clip, posted by the account @kanutalescanada, shows a long line outside a small jobs fair, with just 5 to 6 entry-level internship opportunities being offered. Even with such limited opportunities, there are dozens and potentially even hundreds of candidates waiting in line, as well as international students and young immigrants.

The video starts with the woman talking about a general perception among Indians: "Guys, hamare jo Indian friends ya relatives hain jinko lagta hai ki Canada mein bahut jobs aur paisa hai, unko ye video dikha dena," she says, asking people to make others who have the view that life abroad is easy watch the video. She then turns to the large crowd, highlighting the fact that the reality of searching for employment in Canada can be very different from the picture sometimes reported in social media job search success stories.

“This is the reality of Canada. If you’re prepared for this, then come to Canada—otherwise India is better,” she cautions in the video. Her caption, “Life abroad isn’t always a dream. Sometimes it’s just… a long queue,” has resonated with many, sparking a flood of reactions from both immigrants and those considering a move abroad.

The clip has seen over 2 million views and has generated a storm of comments.

Netizens Reactions

Numerous users have opined on social media about the scenario, making comparisons between Indian and overseas job markets.

One user said, "This problem does exist overseas as well."

Another indicated, "The line might be long, but here, unlike India, employees get their due wages and are not underpaid."

A third user commented, "Those comparing it with India should keep in mind this after having spent ₹30 lakh or more to migrate to Canada."

Another noted perception was, "People won't pay attention to the line; they'll see the fancy boat and the beautiful buildings in the distance."

One user wrote, "Only freshers have to suffer like this. When you've got experience and expertise, you're appreciated."
