Students in some Indian states will get a break tomorrow, as Krishna Janmashtami 2025 is on Saturday, August 16. Schools and colleges will also be shut on Sunday, August 17, as part of the regular weekend.
Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, is one of the most popular Hindu festivals in India. Although devotional functions, temple celebrations, and cultural performances will be held across the country, school closures and public holidays differ from state to state.
The festivities are particularly vibrant in Mathura and Vrindavan, the places where Lord Krishna is said to have spent his childhood.

When Will Classes Resume?
