JNU PhD Admissions 2025-26: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has opened online applications for its PhD courses for the academic year 2025–26. Suitable aspirants can apply on the official portal jnuee.jnu.ac.in by July 7, 2025 (11:50 PM).
Who is Eligible to Apply for JNU PhD Admission?
Applicants should meet educational qualifications and have a valid score in JRF, NET, or GATE (school of engineering alone).
Eligibility Categories:
- JRF-passed candidates
- NET-passed candidates
- GATE-passed candidates (Engineering streams alone)
Educational Qualification Requirements:
- A 1-year or 2-year Master's degree with 55% marks minimum
- Or an M.Phil degree with 55% marks minimum
- Or a 4-year Bachelor's degree with 75% marks minimum (relaxation to 70% SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS)
Note for Foreign Degree Holders: Check that your degree is recognised by an approved Indian accreditation agency.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- The candidate should read the JNU PhD e-Prospectus thoroughly to discover seat availability, subject requirements, and the choice criteria.
- Applicants can opt for a maximum of three courses of study, in order of preference. Preferences once submitted cannot be changed.
- Already appearing candidates for their final qualifying exam are also eligible to apply. Final admission, however, will only be given after the documents are submitted and the minimum marks are obtained by the document registration date.
- Candidates who are selected should block their seat within the mentioned time in their offer letter. This involves uploading documents and paying the admission fee online.
