IIT Kanpur, the organizing institute for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam, has announced the admission criteria for the academic session 2025-26. To secure admission into IITs via JEE Advanced 2025, students must achieve at least 75% marks in their Class 12 board exams. For candidates from SC, ST, and PwD categories, the required aggregate is 65%.

Although students intending to appear for JEE Advanced 2025 are not required to meet a specific score in their Class 12 exams, they must secure at least 75% when registering for JoSAA counseling for IIT seat allocation. Various state education boards and CBSE have released the Class 12 board exam schedule, and the JEE Mains cutoff for 2025 will be announced along with the results of the second JEE Mains session. The first JEE Mains session will take place from January 22 to January 31, 2025, and the second session is scheduled from April 1 to April 8, 2025.

The official JEE Advanced 2025 website (jeeadv.ac.in) provides full details of the admission criteria. Candidates must meet one of the two following conditions:

Pass Class 12 (or equivalent) with at least 75% aggregate marks across five subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, a language, and an additional subject), or

Be within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12 exams.

The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is set for May 18, with applications open from April 23 to May 2. Results are expected on June 2, and JoSAA counseling will begin on June 3. Seat allocation will be based on JEE Advanced ranks, categories, and course preferences.
