With the declaration of HBSE Class 12 board results, there have been serious doubts raised about the performance of some schools in Haryana, mainly those with very poor pass percentages.

Board Identifies Underperforming Schools

The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has made a list of 100 of these below-par schools, out of which 18 achieved a 0% pass percentage, as per a report by The Times of India. The report has been officially handed over to the Directorate of Education for further review and necessary action.

Shocking Disparities Across Districts

Though the overall pass percentage of Class 12 was a satisfactory 85.66%, HBSE Chairman Dr. Pawan Kumar announced significant discrepancies in district-wise and school-wise results. Most institutions did not even achieve 35% pass rates, with 18 schools not yielding a single pass.

"One school had 13 children and not a single one passed," Dr. Kumar said. He further explained that the majority of schools with a 0% pass rate only had one or two students writing the exam, yet even then, the performance was extremely alarming.

Board Recommends Action and Training

According to the media reports, the HBSE has asked the Directorate to initiate necessary disciplinary actions against the teachers of the underperforming schools.

- Submitted the report to the Ministry of Education in order to emphasize the gravity of the situation.

- Advised mandatory training and orientation courses for teachers from the concerned schools.

- Established a need to directly interact with the students and parents to find out root causes.
