The Adani Group has announced a Rs 2,000 crore donation to establish 20 schools across India, forming part of the Rs 10,000 crore philanthropic commitment made during the wedding of Gautam Adani’s younger son. This initiative will be led by the Adani Foundation in collaboration with GEMS Education, a global leader in private K–12 education. The project aims to improve access to quality schooling over the next three years, with the first institution set to open in Lucknow in the 2025–26 academic year.

These schools will follow the CBSE curriculum and will be developed in two phases. Initially, they will be established in India’s primary metropolitan cities, catering to a diverse student base. Subsequently, the initiative will expand to Tier II, III, and IV cities, ensuring that smaller urban centres and semi-urban regions also benefit from enhanced educational opportunities.

A key aspect of this initiative is its focus on inclusivity. Each school will reserve 30% of its seats for students from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring equitable access to education. By providing modern learning infrastructure and resources, the schools aim to bridge the educational gap and create opportunities for students from all socio-economic backgrounds.

In a statement, the Adani Group highlighted its objective of making quality education accessible across all sections of society. The collaboration with GEMS Education will also focus on research and teacher training, fostering innovation and skill development in education.

The initiative aims to reflect the belief that national progress depends on the development of its youth. The partnership seeks to build a skilled, value-driven talent pool, contributing to long-term educational and societal advancement.
