New Delhi: PM-KISAN or Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is a central government scheme launched in 2019. It gives Rs 6,000 per year to eligible farmers. The money is paid in three parts of Rs 2,000 each. The amount is sent directly to farmers’ bank accounts every four months.
When is the next instalment due?
The last (19th) instalment was given in February 2025. The 20th instalment is expected between April and July 2025. According to news reports, it may be credited in June. However, the government has not officially announced the date yet.

What should farmers do to receive the 20th instalment?
To get the Rs 2,000 amount, farmers must:
- Complete e-KYC
- Link Aadhaar with their bank account
- Verify land records
If these steps are not completed, farmers may not receive the next instalment.
How to do e-KYC?
e-KYC is now compulsory. It can be done in two ways:
Online OTP e-KYC – Visit pmkisan.gov.in and use the OTP-based method.
Offline biometric e-KYC – Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
Saturation Drive Completed
The Agriculture Ministry ran a special drive in May 2025 to help farmers complete their documents and verifications. This drive ended on May 31, 2025. Farmers who did not finish the steps during this time must do it quickly.
Who can get money under PM-KISAN?
A farmer is eligible if they:
- Are Indian citizens
- Own cultivable land
- Are small or marginal farmers
- Do not pay income tax
- Do not get a pension over Rs 10,000 per month
- Are not institutional landholders
How to check status or apply?
To check payment status:
Go to pmkisan.gov.in → Click ‘Know Your Status’ → Enter registration details
To see if your name is in the list
Go to the website → Click ‘Beneficiary List’ → Select your area → Click ‘Get Report’
To register as a new farmer
Click ‘New Farmer Registration’ and follow the instructions.
