Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A video has gone viral from Bairad town in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, where a youth was made to place a shoe on his head and apologise during a local meeting (panchayat) on Saturday.
Congress MLA Kailash Kushwah strongly condemned the incident, calling it a "Talibani punishment" and blamed BJP leaders for supporting such an act on Sunday.

According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday in front of the Bairad police station.
A meeting was held to settle an old dispute between Sarthak, the son of local businessman Manish Gupta, and another youth named Kuldeep Rawat.
During the meeting, it was allegedly decided that Sarthak must place Kuldeep’s and his brother’s shoe on his head and apologise to end the dispute.

The video shows the youth doing as told, which has raised public outrage.
MLA Kailash Kushwah said BJP leaders, including former minister Suresh Rathkheda, were present during the act, and it is shameful that they allowed such an insult to happen in public.
He also criticised the police for not taking action despite being aware of the incident.
Rathkheda, however, denied being present when the shoe incident happened and claimed he only helped both sides reach a peaceful settlement. The police have not made any statement yet.
